Greetings to Everyone at Bedford American Legion Post 113
As we close out 2021 and begin 2022, I hope all of you had a joyous Christmas holiday, and you have my best wishes for a Happy New Year. A reminder about the January 5th Post and Auxiliary meeting: We will be having the Post Everlasting Ceremony at 6 pm. Post Everlasting is the final destination within the American Legion where our departed comrades transfer to when they are called to duty by Almighty God, the Commander of all. We salute our departed Post members and thank them for their contribution and service to our Country, Community, and Post.
As we make our way through the winter months and spring approaches, other upcoming events include the March 5 and April 3 chicken barbecues. Also, plan on attending the Americanism banquet before the April 6 Post meeting.
God bless the United States of America
Brad Imler, Post 113 Commander
Sons of the American Legion Squadron 113
Hello, I would like to start by wishing you and your families my personal best for your health and safety in these difficult times. I would like to express my profound gratitude to all those doctors, nurses, and workers who are serving so selflessly on the front lines of this health crisis. In this time of crisis, we must remember that this too shall pass. We will get through this. How well and quickly we get through it depends on us acting now and acting together. With that being said, if you need any assistance in these difficult times please don’t hesitate to
An important reminder that 2022 dues are now due, if you should need any assistance do not hesitate to reach out to me or our Adjutant Jeremy Broadwater (814) 442-8290. It’s important we keep our numbers up for the strong support of our veterans. For those of you that need to catch up on prior years not paid, please do, so that you can retain your membership years. The American Legion has played a large role in making sure this nation has supported our veterans.
I would like to thank the Sons who showed up to help at the Veterans Day meal. All of your volunteer work is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all Veterans that we're able to attend the meal because you are what made the day possible. A big thanks to Patti Leibfreid.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have. I appreciate your dedication to the Legion Post 113.
God Bless America.
Mike Peifer, SAL Commander
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 113
Dear Members of Unit 113
As we welcome the New Year, I want to say thank you to all of our members for your continued support. Our bake sale in December netted more than $1000. Great job to all that helped and contributed, also to the community for supporting the veterans and the Auxiliary. All paid-up members are welcome to attend our meetings, they are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the main ballroom, come and support your unit. March 6 will be the first chicken barbeque and as always, we need cakes. It takes 17 to 20 cakes each time and they are homemade cakes, so bake a cake and come help support the men and women of the Legion and Auxiliary. We have our poppy sales in May, our basket raffle at the annual picnic, and our bake sale in November/December. All money raised goes to veterans in need. If you know of a fundraiser you would like to see the auxiliary look into, please call me or attend a meeting so it can be brought up for discussion. If you know of a veteran or auxiliary member in need of financial assistance, let a board member know. We are listed in the bulletin. If you have an email address, sign up to have your newsletter come by email and help save on the cost of postage. Just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and in the subject line put “newsletter”. I wish all of you the best of health and happiness for the coming year. Please feel free to call me at 814-977-0057 if you have any questions. Remember all that is deployed, so wear your red on Fridays till they all come home. Remember to thank a Veteran for their service. Without them, we would not have the land of the free and the home of the brave.
