SONS OF THE AMERICAN LEGION SQUADRON 113

Greetings,

,

When I first became a member of the Squadron, I had no idea where it would take me. As I traveled the chairs, I met so many great veterans and Sons that inspired me to do more than I thought I was capable of doing . . . so thank you Sons for voting me as your next Commander.

I hope everyone had a great summer and as the cold weather is in front of us be safe out there.

I would like to encourage squadron members to attend our monthly meeting. It will make us a strong squadron.

Jerry Williams

Commander, SAL Squadron 113

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 113

Hello!

Well, here we are for the last quarter of the year and where did the time go.  We have

had a lot of hot weather and it is time for it to cool down.  So, get out and enjoy this beautiful land of ours. I would like to thank everyone that participated and supported our annual basket raffle in August. It was a great success and all money raised stays local for our veterans in need.  The last chicken BBQ is in September. Check the bulletin. Please consider donating a cake. Bedford/Blair Bi-County Council is October 4th in the ballroom from 10-2.  Our next fundraiser is the annual bake sale in November/December and all money raised goes to veterans in need. The Adult Christmas party and the Kid’s Christmas party also are in December.  If you know of a fund raiser you would like to

see the auxiliary look into, please call me or attend a meeting so it can be brought up for discussion. All paid up members are welcome to attend our meetings, they are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm in the ballroom. Come and support your unit. If you know of a veteran or auxiliary member in need of financial assistance, let me

know.  Please feel free to call me at 814-977-0057 if you have any questions.  So, keep

the faith and enjoy life. Remember Everyone that is Deployed, R.E.D., so wear your red on Friday’s, till they all come home.  Remember to thank a Veteran for their service, without them, we would not have the land of the free and home of the brave.

Deb Magill

Auxillary President Unit 113

AMERICAN LEGION RIDERS

Hope everyone has enjoyed their summer. It seems to have gone too fast.

Rider’s are still selling Rada knives. If anyone would like to see a catalog, please see a Rider’s member.

We would like to thank the Bedford legion staff for their help during the Onstead Ride and also thank you to all that donated for their donations.

The Legion Riders are planning a casino bus trip to Charlestown racetrack and casino on November 16th. If interested in going, please see a Legion Rider’s member for tickets.
