DD214 PROOF OF VETERAN RECORD OF SERVICE received when discharged from Military Service. The Veteran should have recorded a copy of the DD214 at the Courthouse of his/her home of record when discharged. Contact the courthouse for a copy.
Call the NATIONAL ARCHIVES AND RECORDS ADMINISTRATION to receive a copy; phone 1-866-272-6272. You will need the following: a copy of a death certificate, a published obituary, or a letter from the funeral home.
